Jamele Wright Sr. “We Are All Kinda Floating” – Opening Reception and Artist Talk

The Lyndon House Arts Center is pleased to announce We Are All Kinda Floating, an installation of new works by Jamele Wright Sr., on view from October 26 – December 28, 2024. The artist reception is Thursday, November 14^th, from 6:00–8:00 p.m., with an artist talk at 6:30 p.m.

Atlanta-based artist Jamele Wright Sr. creates monumental textiles that center the traditions of the Black American vernacular experience and merge sculpture, painting, fiber and techniques from applied graffiti and quilting. Wright’s immersive installation of hanging hand-dyed fabrics creates a dynamic dialogue between the architecture of the space and the viewer as they move through the installation, activating it. Wright’s exhibition beckons the visitor to contemplate lines through history – family, tradition, and culture – that connect us all.
